Introduction

to Hotglue

Before creating this portfolio site, i looked at the Hotglue video tutorials. From the tutorials i learnt how to add Youtube videos, Widgets and OGG video files. These tutorial videos also explain how you can use code with hotglue and some useful information about cloning items and locking items.

Watching the series of videos provided by Hotglue helped me to get an idea of what could be done with the system. I found that you can arrange and rearrange material quickly, which means people with no experience of making a website design can experiment and develop a taste of what design style they like.

My first page (left) was created as a space to show some mood music i created. This page was over sized and the arrangement was messy. I also found that uploading OGG files didn't always work, embedding Soundcloud Wigets seems to work better.

Pros

• You can arrange content quickly with no knowledge of HTML or CSS


• Hotglue provides a free way to creating a live websites


• You can use CSS and HTML along side your Hotglue text

Cons

• Hotglue has very limited number of fonts to use


• You can't use make a page that would resize to fit different screen sizes unless you write the page in code


• Mistakes can lead to loss of work as Hotglue saves over your old page constantly
